Who we are

LOOKING BACK

We aim to ensure that every communities’ story is heard, shared, and valued through the preservation and interpretation of memory, race, and ethnicity. Whether these stories are conveyed through oral histories, contextual narratives, or another means of documentation, an accurate and holistic interpretation of our shared cultural history matters to us.  One such way we are taking action against the systemic racism is through the development of our podcast, Urban Roots, which explores urban history through storytelling.

TO MOVE FORWARD

We are an organization of anti-racist, community-minded professionals with the overarching goal of connecting people and place through history and planning. We aim to capture and interpret histories that enhance awareness by broadening narratives to depict the accurate stories of shared cultural experiences. We work to expand the breadth of civic engagement through a multi-disciplinary approach so that development just doesn't happen to communities without their input and involvement.
